In the internet age, a lot of businesses have gone online in order to meet the users’ demands. Along with large scale businesses, even small artists, creators, producers have opted to sell their goods online. A lot of times they find it difficult to get proper logistic facilities, which doesn’t let them function to their limits. Businesses, small or large, rely on good delivery services, to provide their products to the end users.

Freight Save team knew that time is one of the most valuable things and understand that so much of it can be wasted on things that aren’t core business functions. So, with that in mind, they setup a member-based freight service where members access group buying power through the high-volume accounts they hold. This means end clients access discounted group rates, similar to those of a large company shipping high volumes regularly & we take care of the service side of things as well.

Company needed a new web app platform for its members to eliminate lengthy delays while providing exceptional customer service and providing a group buying power to its members.

Our Approach

The Objectives

To design an intuitive digital platform that enables forwarders to procure cheaper rates faster, reduce inefficiencies, boost sales, make data-driven decisions and provide seamless customer experience.
Freight Save‘s new site needed an increase in traffic, plus improved engagement, brand trust and accessibility.
To solve this problem, we needed to understand what exactly is the current situation with logistics and how the users are dealing with it.

Other area the needed to solve was:

  • Increase membership sign ups
  • Raise product and service awareness
  • Increase the quote request and conversions
  • Manage fluctuating and growing demand from a global, fast-moving market
  • Remove the barrier to slow and cumbersome access to information

The Challenge

Freight Save aimed at solving problems faced by traditional freight forwarders, ranging from complicated rate distribution, long delays in quote generation, complicated documentation among many others. With a view of eradicating the traditional manual methods of operation, onboarding users to a digital platform conveniently was the challenge in hand.

  • Convey the message that SMEs can compete with larger businesses by using the freight services provided by Freight Save
  • Create a detailed digital strategy which includes framing the problem statement, competitor analysis, persona development, user flow, information architecture, wireframes and UI elements design as well as integration with shipping carriers.
  • Provide a tool to obtain a quick quote to users without an account so they can experience the normal rate vs member’s rate and are encouraged to be a member with the portal.
  • Ensure site architecture and navigation enable easy browsing and accessibility of content

The Solution

With a goal of simplifying the otherwise complex freight forwarding experience, we came up with a solution that enabled real time visibility, comparison of rates, quick quote generation and other such features to be represented in an aesthetic, yet concise and functional manner which further enabled the freight forwarder to make quick and more precise decisions.

We designed the quote builder in a way that also encouraged users to sign up for membership account and the site language was designed to convey the message that with Freight Save, you can ship competitively to your customers without a large shipping price tags and provide an effective solution.
