The Objective

The Modern Lights website redesign was much needed with a focus on improving user experience, mobile-first design, branding, sales, search engine optimisation, performance, security, and analytics. The objective of the redesign was to create a more user-friendly and efficient website that better communicated the brand’s values and messaging to visitors. The redesign aimed to increase sales through optimised conversion tactics and streamlined checkout processes. Additionally, the new design also needed to be optimised for fast load times and enhanced security measures to protect customer data. Improved tracking and analytics also needed to be incorporated to allow the company to better understand user behavior and make data-driven decisions.

The Challenge

Websites face a few hurdles every now and then, but there were some problems that were unique to Modern Light website. Designing an ecommerce website for Modern Lights may present some unique challenges, including:

  • Large Product Catalog: Modern Lights have a large product catalog with numerous categories, which made it challenging to create a clear and intuitive navigation system.
  • Visual Appeal: As an ecommerce website, Modern Lights’ site needed to be visually appealing and showcase products in an attractive and engaging way. This required the design to balance aesthetics with functionality and ease-of-use.
  • User Experience: The website needed to provide a smooth and seamless user experience, from browsing products to completing a purchase. This required careful attention to site structure, layout, and functionality.
  • Mobile Optimisation: With an increasing number of users accessing websites from mobile devices, designing for mobile optimisation was critical for ensuring an enjoyable user experience. Previous website did not had any analytics integrated which made it difficult for us to make the decision.
  • Checkout Process: The checkout process needed to be a critical part of the ecommerce experience, as a  poorly designed checkout can lead to cart abandonment and lost sales.
